The first few steps of the hike are filled with worry and excitement. As you progress on your climb, you will experience the many beauties that reside in the wilderness around you. Take a moment to breathe in the fresh air and absorb energy around you as well as remind yourself of your goal: reaching the top. This stage of the hike will push you to your limits, but you will come to see the growth that occurs. Put one step in front of the other and don't give up. The true prize awaits you at the peak.
NATURE HEALS AND REJUVENATESI decided to include this annotated bibliography that I wrote because it discusses the ways in which nature can improve mental and physical health. As someone who has begun their hike towards a good life, it is important for me to talk about the stormy weather you will encounter when on your own hike. There will be times when the sun doesn't shine and your path becomes muddy, but do not lose focus. Poor mental states are temporary and you will overcome them through understanding your strengths/goals and how you plan to achieve your desired good life. Continue to put one foot in front of the other and persevere through the hardships that are in the way of you reaching the top. Although it may be raining now, the sun will shine again.

When you experience dark times, it is essential to have something that brings you hope. One thing that always helps me cope when I am going through rough times is music. The song 'Daylily' by Movements has helped me tremendously. The message of this song is that despite what you are currently going through, it will pass. Keep this in mind during your hike to a good life.

DETERMINATIONNo matter what you do in life, there will come a time where you face some form of adversity. In his article titled, 'The Upside of Suffering', Steven Mazie discusses the physical and mental roadblocks that runners endure during a marathon. He mentions that despite facing strenuous circumstances, as one would encounter during a long-distance run, marathon runners never give up. The burning passion inside of them is used as motivation to continue. During this part of the hike, you will encounter the same circumstances. Despite the hardships or adversity you face, remind yourself of the end goal and keep pressing forward.
